BeerFest Last Summer 2013

As I mentioned below, because of the ridiculously long hiatus (I could have had a child in elementary by now), it will be hard to list of my finds in chronological order. Rather, I just will just spill what I have from my computer and brain! :)

Towards the end of last summer (September 14), I volunteered with a couple of peeps at the Taste of Grandview in Columbus, OH. While I thought I was going to be a legit beer pourer (which is what I signed up for), we just ended up pumping beer from tons of kegs.

We got the opportunity to sneak out in the middle of our shift to get some food with our free coupons and I got to try a cupcake sampler (sweet potato, red velvet and coconut) from Sweet! The Mobile Cupcakery and a roast turkey sandwich from The Pickled Swine (I was aiming at getting my favorite American sandwich - a pastrami sandwich from TPS but they ran out :( )

Both of these were absolutely delicious!! I was so happy to be able to taste three different types of cupcakes (All wonderful) and even though I was not excited about trying the turkey sandwich, I was licking my fingers by the time I was done. The sauce on the sandwich made it perfectly moist (I hate dry sandwiches, the turkey was so flavorful and the veggies so fresh!)

The cupcakery can be found both in Cleveland and Columbus while TPS is a Columbus wonder! Go try it!!

The Big Return... Happy New Year 2014!

Hello peeps!

I am returning for the first time in 5.5 years to this blog - GAH! I don't even know why I stopped completing this. I got lazy, I got complaisant and maybe my one excuse is that iPhone were barely in existence then and too over price for my taste so with little mobile technology, it became harder to keep with my nomadic lifestyle. What a shame!

Since then, I have been to Cameroon, my home country, twice (the first time was in December 2008, the second time was in July 2010). I ate a lot of delicious food there that I wish I would be able to share with you (I due time, I will - for now, here is a picture or two):

The dishes above are just a few of Cameroon multitude of DELICIOUS meals (I'm not being biased, it's true!)

Afterward, I graduated from college, moved from Portland, OR to Grand Rapids, MI, then to the Washington, DC area (to which I returned a few times), then back again to Grand Rapids, MI then off to Columbus, OH where I am now currently located.

Since then, I have also traveled to:
Seattle, WI
Chicago (several times)
New York City, NY
Palmer and Anchorage, AK
Oshkosh and Milwaukee, WI
Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing and Muskegon, MI
Cleveland, Toledo and Cincinnati, OH
Philadelphia, PA
New Orleans, LA
Minneapolis, MN
San Francisco, CA
Nashville, TN
These are the cities I can remember, haha...

In all those cities, where I spent anywhere from a couple days to a couple of months, I have had some amazing culinary experiences (and some crappy too). As I resurrect this blog, I will try to remember some of these experiences but will also update more current experiences here in Columbus!

Thank you all so much for your support as I return. I don't know if I will recapture the attention of my previous followers (I know ya'll are out there, I saw my pageviews numbers... and that was back in OH-8 yo!) but I know I will do my best to continue to capture great culinary adventures just for you!!

On se voit!
